Postdoc for the Research Unit of General Practice

We are looking for an engaged and skilled Postdoc for a position (18.5 hours/week) starting March 1, 2025, for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension at the Research Unit of General Practice, Institute of Health Services Research, University of Southern Denmark.

Research tasks
The position is part of an interdisciplinary research project that investigates how individuals experience and adapt to the challenges arising from serious illness. The position includes a variety of project management and research-related tasks, including:

  • Participating in data collection, including gaining access to the field, conducting interviews, and making observations
  • Analyzing qualitative data, including contributing to theory-based conceptual and analytical work
  • Contributing to the development and execution of research workshops
  • Collaborating with other researchers and stakeholders in the project
  • Administrative tasks related to the project
  • Additionally, there will be various ad hoc tasks throughout the project

Expectations of qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, be familiar with ethnographic research methods, have good communication skills, and be interested in working on research projects in the healthcare sector. It is also expected that applicants have strong skills in written and spoken English. We are looking for a researcher who have experience with working independently, as well as the ability to collaborate and work in teams, both nationally and internationally. Experience in health-related research is an advantage.

Applicants should have a master’s degree in the humanities or social sciences (e.g., anthropology, sociology).

The Recruitment/Hiring takes place in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Central Organisation of the Academics.
