Job description
When considering applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant’s ability to document a high level of original scientific work at an international level as well as high-quality research-based teaching within the area of Chemical Toxicology and Analytical Chemistry.
The professor will become a central member in the research group “Toxicology and Drug Metabolism”. The main purpose of the Toxicology and Drug Metabolism Group is to perform experimental research revealing the toxicological, metabolic, and endocrine effects of xenobiotics, especially pharmaceuticals, with the aim of assessing their risks to humans and biota. The applicant is expected to strengthen the research and education at the Department, and to apply state-of-the-art, innovative, and forefront analytical chemistry in studies of toxicology related to pharmaceutical substances and products. Therefore, the applicant should have a strong scientific background in the following topics:
• Chemical Toxicology; experimental research with pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products
• Analytical Chemistry; development and application of methods based on chromatography and mass spectrometry, to understand endocrine toxicology, growth, and reproduction

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

The professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:
- Research, including publication/academic dissemination, as well as activities to secure funding for this
- Develop and organize high-quality and research-based teaching, including associated examination within the Department’s education activities
- Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate
- Academic assessments and other contributions to the scientific community
- Contributions to committees and functions at the Department, the Faculty, and the University as needed
- Research-based public-sector consultancy and especially, close collaborations with clinicians, related to the toxicity of pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products.

- Extensive experience in research-based teaching within Pharmaceutical Sciences, including course development, examination work and supervision
